As the year 2018 comes to close...  Dear partner in Christ for His Kingdom, My name is Jeffrey Lee, Chief Executive and Chief Empowerment Officer of SfK Ministries. As the year 2018 comes to close, I am writing this personal letter to thank you for your standing with us in prayer and support for SfK Ministries in 2018. Thanks to your support, SfK Ministries has been able to equip and empower missional businesses in Asia and Africa with greater impact than we initially imagined. These missional businesses exist for the Kingdom Impact in people and the communities they serve. In many cases, they lack crucial support they need to expand their services. SfK Ministries exists to support these businesses for transformation, particularly in the least evangelized and poorest nations where challenges are greater than most other countries. SfK Kingdom Fellows in Atlanta, GA had a gathering to fellowship and to discuss various ministry issues. Please pray that this teamwork will be strengthened over time.  SfK's Resource Development Tour produced a productive meeting with a group of people in NY and a church in Long Island, New York. Please pray that this initial relationship will grow stronger and deeper as time goes on. SfK delivered a couple of presentations for Logos Central Chapel (LCC) in Denver, Colorado, SfK's Institutional Kingdom Fellow. Their response was very positive. Please pray that this relationship will grow deeper in 2019.  SfK paid a visit to DCI, an SfK Partner in Memphis, TN. The principals renewed their pledge to support SfK Ministries. Please pray that this strong relationship will only grow stronger over time.   Hana Financial, Inc., a prominent finance company in the Western United States, hosted a gathering to learn about SfK programs held at its head office in Los Angeles, California. More than 25 people attended the event and a few, including Hana Financial, pledged their support for SfK. Praise the Lord! Please pray that this initial exposure will expand the awareness of people about BAM over time.  Bethel Korean Church, Irvine, California has decided to establish an Institutional Kingdom Fellow relationship with SfK Ministries. Praise the Lord! SfK and Bethel will work together on the church's future missional business programs. Please pray that this initial relationship will become stronger in 2019 and beyond.           SfK MBA BCT Chiang Mai, Thailand held in October 2018 was followed by Business Plan Contest that attracted three business plans before the deadline of November 30th. This participation represented 33% of nine graduates and we praise the Lord for their passion to serve. Please pray that these business plans will be fairly evaluated and implemented in their respective nations. Upcoming Events & Prayer Requests   Dec. 17, 2018:  SfK Korea board. Please pray that all board members will discern God's will in discussing and deciding important issues.   SfK will travel to San Salvador, El Salvador to explore and discuss various issues, particularly issues pertaining to international trade for the products made by missional businesses supported by SfK. A total of five people will meet for this gathering. Please pray that this 4-day meeting will be fruitful according to God's good, pleasing and perfect will.  Jan. 14-25, 2019:  SfK MBA BCT Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Please pray that this BCT, SfK's overall 9th training, will attract BAMers who God has prepared, and the training will provide essential equipping for them to produce a significant transformational impact in their nations.  Feb. 2019:  SfK's Joint Board Meeting for SfK Life (US) and SfK Korea will take place in Bangkok, Thailand. Please pray that this meeting will draw the board members to unity in Christ and SfK's mission.  The members of SfK Network are working on our business plan for 2019. Please pray that our efforts will produce business plans that are in line with the SMART principles.   We at SfK Life are still receiving financial resources that God has bestowed upon us. SfK Ministries Newsletter - NOVEMBER 2018 "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." (Colossians 3:17) Spotlight on Inspirational BAM Companies   We've been exploring what Business As Mission is and its biblical characteristics and social impact.  We would like to illustrate what a successful BAM business looks like and its impact in the community in which it serves.  We hope that these Kingdom focussed businesses inspire you to get involved, whether directly working with a BAM company or supporting them with your resources.  This article was taken from the Mission Frontiers November-December 2007 issue written by Justin Forman.  Mission Frontiers is a bi-monthly magazine that covers a variety of mission related topics.  In this particular article, Mr. Forman highlights a card business based in Rwanda, a Tiffany style lampshade and stained glass manufacturing company in China, and a book publishing company based here in the U.S. but working worldwide.  All three companies have expanded and have been doing Kingdom work for years serving the community in which they are based, as well as outreaching and ministering beyond its local boarders.   Learn more about these inspirational Kingdom focussed BAM companies... Ministry Updates    SfK MBA BCT Chiang Mai 2018 has been successfully completed after at least 80 hours of rigorous training. A total of 9 attendees from 6 countries have graduated and are eligible members in the SfK Missional Business Community. Please pray that the graduates will diligently implement what they have learned to their lives and businesses to be the catalyst in living the life of salt, light and fragrant perfume in the community they serve.                   K-Impact Investment Fund (KIF) has been established in Korea. This fund will be the first BAM fund established in Korea to empower missional businesses in Asia and Africa. Please pray that we will draw God's wisdom in managing the fund so that more people will be inspired to invest in missional businesses.  One Egg Project is moving forward. They have agreed to support two pilot projects in Cambodia and Tanzania. Through this program, our implementing members in both countries, in collaboration with local partners, will help early-stage children in poverty be nourished for effective physical and intellectual development. Please pray that these program will pave the way towards a greater Kingdom impact in people of the areas to be served.    SfK's implementing member in Central Asia #1 is an ophthalmologist. He has witnessed the miraculous recovery of the lost eyesight of a woman thanks to God's mercy dispensed through his caring heart and service. God is amazing! Please pray that such miracles will open opportunities to witness the mighty power of the gospel and prayer in this country where the gospel is under persecution.   Nanuri Ltd. is a member of SfK's Missional Business Community operating in Rwanda. Its managing director, Sanghoon Lee, has recently received the honorable Underwood Missions Award from Yonsei University, founded by the first missionary to Korea, Rev. Horace Underwood. It is truly an honor and privilege to serve the Lord alongside godly people like him. Please pray that more and more missional entrepreneurs will be joining the mission force in advancing His Kingdom in the end times of God's grand salvation plan. Upcoming Events & Prayer Requests   Nov. 9, 2018:  SfK Life Board Meeting. Please pray that each board member will remember God's calling in business in deliberating all matters that come to the board.  Dec. 17, 2018:  SfK Korea Board Meeting. Please pray that all board members will well wrap up 2018 and plan for the next year 2019.   Nov. and Dec. 2018:  Stewardship Tour to the U.S.A. This year's trip will include various gatherings and individual meetings with many existing and potential supporters in New York, Atlanta, Memphis, Denver, and Los Angeles. Please pray that the meetings will gain God's favor through the people we will meet.  All implementing members and missional businesses will prepare for the business plans in 2019. Please pray that the planning process will not leave out God who should be at the center of everything they do.  Missional Business Trading is one of three platforms that SfK is using for equipping and empowering missional businesses. This platform will be formalized within 2018. Please pray that God will bless us with His divine wisdom so that we may choose the right channel and the right form of entity to implement the platform.    Jan. 14-25, 2019:  SfK MBA BCT Phnom Penh in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Please pray that God will use this training opportunity to equip many missional entrepreneurs and also connect them through a network of like-minded people of God for His Kingdom work.  "God's work done God's way will never lack God's supply." --Hudson Taylor   If the Holy Spirit speaks to you to partner with SfK Ministries, please CONTACT US.
