Why Religious Pluralism Makes Sharing the Gospel Difficult

A recent Barna study reported, “Almost half of Millennials (47 percent) agree at least somewhat that it is wrong to share one’s personal beliefs with someone of a different faith in hopes that they will one day share the same faith.” In the same article, Barna president David Kinnaman suggests that what is driving the millennial response is the “cultural expectation against judging personal choices.” This percentage is much higher than in any of the older generations. Why the stark difference?
The answer might lie in the fact that millennials were the first generation to come of age at a time when the ideology of religious pluralism had become widely accepted, particularly on U.S. college campuses. What is religious pluralism and how is it affecting our ability to share the gospel?

Ministry Updates
 
1. SfK Life Board meeting was held on March 15. Please pray that all members will remain true to the vision and mission that the Lord has led SfK Ministries to see and do only for His glory. 

2. SfK's 3-day strategic meeting in Singapore with a Kingdom business aiming to serve in Muslim nations was very fruitful. Please pray that this relationship will place more stepping stones towards the goal set out for us to work together. 

3. SfK's e-Learning platform is near completion. We expect to offer the first courses within Q2 2019. Please pray that this new training channel will help deepen SfK's MBA platform. 

4. Nanuri, a member of SfK's missional business community in Rwanda, held its grand opening ceremony and dedicated its operation to God who owns and operates Nanuri's business. CLICK HERE to read more about Nanuri and see photos of the event.  Please pray that this new medical center and a guest house will serve people with integrity, excellence and stewardship so that God may advance His Kingdom through their service. 
 
5. SfK held a total of five sessions of Team Explore with select members of Logos Central Chapel of Denver, Colorado via conference call to explore how the local church in the U.S. may be able to collaborate with SfK Ministries in equipping and empowering missional businesses in the mission fields. As a result, a mission team has been formed. Please pray that a spirit of cooperation may guide the members who participated to be open-minded to new and innovative ways to world missions.   

6. Met with a BAM practitioner specialized in growing, processing and wholesaling specialty coffee in a nation openly persecuting Christianity, to explore the possibility of collaborating for His Kingdom and will see what the Lord has in store. Please pray that we will always bear in mind only His will, not our interest.
 

Upcoming Events & Prayer Requests
 
  • April 2019 - SfK Korea's equity capital will be expanded significantly, This new capital subscription is expected for completion within April. Please pray that the process will be consummated smoothly and the expanded capital will be put to fruitful use for His Kingdom.
  • May 2019 - SfK Korea will establish a subsidiary, with a majority ownership, to consolidate global merchandising and marketing activities. The registration and administrative process is expected for completion within May. Please pray that this new entity will help pave the way towards promoting the sales of products made by SfK's aligned missional businesses so that greater transformation impact may be produced. 
  • April 29-May 10, 2019 - SfK MBA Boot Camp Training (BCT) is scheduled to take place in Central Asia #1. Three Kingdom Fellows will serve for this training program. Please pray that the training program will equip and encourage each other for greater Kingdom impact in this Muslim nation. The remaining BCT programs in 2019 are: 
    • Arusha, Tanzania (July 8-19)
    • Kathmandu, Nepal (August 19-30)
    • Chiang Mai, Thailand (October 7-18)
  • May 12-15, 2019 - SfK will lead a 4-day BAM training for new missionaries of a Korean mission agency in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Please pray that the training will help prepare the participants for an effective service. Also pray that this new found relationship with the agency and the training center will expand for His Kingdom.
  • May 24, 2019 - SfK will host a Synergy Forum in Korea for scholars and missionaries who have been displaced from certain nations. Please pray that this forum will open the door of opportunity to continue their services for His Kingdom.
  • June 3-7, 2019 - SfK will participate in Korea's IBA Leaders Forum and BAM Conference. Please pray that the forum and conference will inspire and challenge many people with God's calling in missional business.
