Celebrating God's Purposes for Business

We have chosen the themes: CELEBRATE, CONNECT & CREATE for the upcoming BAM Global Congress.

As we gather the BAM movement together from every corner of the world, we want to:
+ CELEBRATE what God is doing through business around the world
+ CONNECT with a global network of collaborators
+ CREATE momentum for the future of business as mission

In March, as we prepare for the Congress next month (see information below), we are going to focus on the theme of CELEBRATE!

I believe that to do effective business as mission, we must start with a solid foundation of thinking about business from a biblical perspective. In other words, before we get to the ‘as mission’, we need to understand God’s design for business – and yes, celebrate it, because it is really good!

Celebrating God’s Purposes for Business

It is no secret that my favourite quote about business comes from Dallas Willard who said that, ‘Business is a primary moving force of the love of God in human history.’ [1]

Business, done well, is glorifying to God and has enormous potential to do good. Business has an innate God-given power to create dignified jobs, to multiply resources, to provide for families and communities and to push forward innovation and development in human society.

Ministry Updates

SfK Missional Business (MB) Trading platform formed a social media marketing team to promote online sales in the U.S. of the products made by missional businesses.
Please pray that this initiative will develop into a fruitful initiative.

SfK MB Trading has begun the process of reviewing the packaging of HESED products to seek design improvements as well as to ensure regulatory compliance.
Please pray that this endeavor will bring value to the marketing efforts.

SfK MB Trading is carrying out negotiations with several Asian markets, including Korean markets, to promote HESED products.
Please pray that these endeavors will gain God's favor and bear fruit.

SfK MB Academy held its Post BMT session in June on Marketing led by Ms. Christine Kang, a professor of marketing at Cal State University Long Beach.

SfK MB Fund has begun a dialogue with a Dutch missional business to explore the possibility of joint investments in a K nation in Central Asia and the Republic of Georgia in Eurasia. Please pray that this initial contact will pave the way for synergistic collaboration.

Upcoming Events

1. Aug. 14, 2021: SfK MB Academy will hold the Online BMT 2021. This 16-week long online training has only 12 seats available and if you are interested please register as explained on the poster attached hereto. Please pray that the Lord will connect missional entrepreneurs who are in need of this training.

2. July 2021: SfK MB Academy will hold its Post BMT session on Transformation. Rev. Dongho Song, CEO of NOW Mission in Korea will lead the session. Please pray that this session will deepen God's calling and purpose for their businesses.

3. July 2021: SfK MB Academy will hold a 4-week long training session for a new BAMer based in Liverpool, UK who serves refugees from a Muslim nation in U.K. and Turkey. Please pray that this initial training will help enhance the common understanding and advance into a deeper relationship.;

4. SfK MB Academy has written a response article to a case study in Kenya and will participate in an academic forum, Korean Global Mission Leadership Forum (KGMLF), in November. This conference's theme is Missions and Money. Please pray that the conference will help enrich the understanding on BAM in missions.

5. SfK MB Trading will hold a meeting with one of the largest churches in the U.S. to seek collaboration for marketing products made by missional businesses. Please pray that this dialogue will be fruitful according to God's grace.
