Multiplying Your Influence by Using Good Words by Dave Kahle in the November 28, 2024 issue of Business as Mission Blog   “Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.” Did you have that saying in your childhood? Or one like it? It was a response from our parents when we were verbally attacked, criticized, or otherwise made to feel bad by what someone said to us. It was probably helpful in nudging us off our hurt feelings. However, like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, in my childhood, it was untrue! The truth lies in the opposite direction. While words may not break our bones, they can have a huge impact on our lives. On one hand, they can build us up and give us confidence and dedication, and on the other, they can generate feelings of inferiority, a defeated self-image and lead to depression and passivity. Words are one of our most powerful tools for living a life of fulfillment and purpose. The Bible is full of passages that remind of this powerful truth and encourage us to choose our words wisely. For example, the Bible is God’s Word. Not Gods feelings, not God’s actions, not God’s intentions. It is God’s Word for a reason. Words are one of our most powerful tools for living a life of fulfillment and purpose. In addition, God spoke the world into existence. It was His words that formed creation. (Genesis 1, NIV) And, Jesus is called the Word. .. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was fully God. (John 1: 1, NIV) In case there is any confusion, Jesus makes clear how important words are to God: But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned. (Matthew 12:36-37) As with so many other passages, we often relegate the idea to the realm of “church” and give ourselves a pass when it comes to our behavior in the marketplace. But there is no exception here for people in the marketplace. No where does it say, “This applies to your life, except your business or career. You don’t have to obey this on the job.”

사역 동정

MB 아카데미 – SfK는 2025년 첫번째 MB Connect를 실시하였습니다. 새로운 멤버를 다수 받아들여서 확대 구성된 그룹 멤버들이 서로 자기소개하는 시간을 가졌습니다. 2025년에는 이 그룹에 속한 멤버들이 작년보다 많은 팀 프로젝트를 통하여 합력을 도모하게 됩니다. SfK 네트워크 – SfK는 2025년 사업계획과 3개년 전략계획을 업데이트하였습니다. 이러한 계획들이 2025년 사업과 사역을 실시해 가는데 유용하게 사용될 수 있도록 기도해 주시기 바랍니다. MB 서비스 – 미국에 소재한 마케팅 에이전시인 SfK ITAM USA가 1월에 중요한 고객과의 관계를 수립하였습니다. 주님을 찬양합니다! 이런 새로운 기회가 동남아시아에 있는 선교기업들의 직업 창출을 도울 수 있도록 기도해 주시기 바랍니다. SfK 네트워크 – SfK와 중요한 파트너는 관계를 다음 단계로 진전하고 변혁하기 위하여 함께 고심하고 있습니다. 1월에 가진 합동 리더쉽 회의를 통해서 전반적인 구도에 대하여 원칙적인 합의를 보았고  2025년 동안 진행될텐데 긴 여정기간 동안 잘 진행해 갈 수 있도록 기도해 주시기 바랍니다. SfK 네트워크 – SfK는 한국 BAM 네트워크인 IBA의 멤버쉽을 2025년에 갱신하였습니다.

다가오는 사역 일정

1. MB 아카데미 -  SfK는 2월 20일에 MB Connect의 두번째 모임을 갖습니다. IT와 AI를 사용하는 세 명의 멤버가 생성 AI를 비즈니스에 어떻게 사용하는가 하는 사례를 나누게 됩니다. 이번 세션이 새로운 기술을 효과적으로 사용할 수 있는 방법을 배우는 좋은 기회가 되도록 기도해 주시기 바랍니다. 2. MB 커뮤니티 – SfK는 MB 커뮤니티의 멤버이자 중앙아시아에서 중요한 역할을 감당하고 있는 선교기업에서 지배구조 (Governance)를 정립하기 위한 목적으로 이사회를 섬기기로 하였습니다. 100명이 넘는 직원을 가진 이 선교기업이 다음 단계로 도약할 수 있는 기반을 다질 수 있도록 기도해 주시기 바랍니다.    3. MB 서비스 – SfK Consulting Force는 MB 커뮤니티에 속한 동남아시아에 소재한 중요한 기업을 2년 동안 컨설팅하게 됩니다. 이번 합력이 이 비즈니스 싸이클의 다음 단계로 진보할 수 있도록 기도해 주시기 바랍니다. 4. MB 펀드 – SfK는 기존의 투자 포트폴리오를 재구성하기 위하여 투자파트너들과 지속적인 대화를 이어가고 있습니다. 이러한 과정 중에 하나님의 인도하심을 지속적으로 구하며 의지하도록 기도해 주시기 바랍니다. 5. SfK 네트워크 – 미국에 소재한 SfK Life와 SfK Korea는 2월 중에 각각 이사회를 개최합니다. 중요한 주제들을 토의하게 될텐데 회의 가운데에서 하나님의 통찰력과 지혜를 의지하도록 기도해 주시기 바랍니다.
